What are Grants?
Grants are funds disbursed by one party (Grant Makers), often a Government Department, Corporation, Foundation or Trust, to a recipient often (but not always) a nonprofit entity, educational institution, business or an individual. Grants funds are not required to be paid back.

In order to receive a grant, either a proposal or an application is required. Cash matches are usually required when submitting a grant. Most grants are made to fund a specific project and require a level of compliance and reporting.
